Good morning Members and Happy New Year to you all,
I am sure you will all be pleased to know last night your Committee agreed on a course of action in the short term that will see us racing again soon.
The re-surface of our track is still a priority, especially with the Closed State Titles in September. Unfortunately, with the weather and subsequent flood crisis it has not yet happened. We are still discussing the timing with the supplier and one issue will actually be the availability of the product, with high demand for flood reconstruction. It is an ongoing and very frustrating process and we will keep you informed.
Our Founders Day race meeting will go ahead as planned on February 5th, at this stage at our own track however, if it eventuates we can get the works started we will do so and the Rockhampton track is available on that day as an alternative.
The weather has also created work at the track and firstly, thankyou to those that have been putting in over the holiday period, mowing, slashing etc and secondly, we have planned for working bees on the next two Sundays, January 23rd and January 30th. The more the merrier, we need your help please. It would be great to see some new faces giving the regulars a hand.
A steering committee has been formed to set the preparations for the Closed State Titles in motion and we will advise all members of the progress of that in time. Again, we will need help, a massive task.
Look forward to seeing you at Founders Day.
