Gladstone Kart Club members at 2007 State Titles.

The 2007 QLD State Titles were held at Toowoomba over the weekend with 8 GKC members competing in 10 classes. Avoiding a DNF and making it to the chequered flag seemed a difficult proposition with only 4 members managing to finish the finals.

Seniors - 2006 SNL state champion Cian Fothergill was the most successful of the locals coming away with 2nd in Senior National Light and 3rd in Clubman Light. After starting the final from the rear after an incident in the prefinal, John Grother stormed through the pack into 9th and Sean Thomas finishing in 18th in the 29 kart Leopard Light field. Although recently moved to Mackay, Brenton Simmonds competed in the ultra competitive Clubman Heavy field with 45 entries and half a second covering the top 23 karts. Simo wasn't far off the pace but ended up with a DNF in the final. One of the clubs elder statesmen Benny Benedetto, left the Leopard at home and competed in Clubman O40's, however his weekend ended with the same fate as Simo's with a DNF in the final.

Juniors -  Josh Pool (Junior National Heavy), Jake Downs (Midgets) and Brock Ten Bensel (Junior National Heavy and Junior Clubman) also made the trip to competed in their respective classes on the weekend with Josh the only junior to finishing the finals in 15th in the 28 kart field.
